Changing The Face Of
Marriage Worldwide

How to plan a “Time of Blessing.”
- First, have the bride and groom gather a list of those people
in their lives they feel are spiritually closest to them. The
bride and groom should remember that these people will be speaking
into their lives and should be chosen carefully.
- Next choose a setting, which will depend on the number of people
invited. Some couples have held their “Time of Blessing” at restaurants,
in the homes of friends or family, or at their churches. Food
is not a requirement, but some couples have had dinners, others
have had dessert buffets. Choose what works best for you.
- Once the time and place is set, begin to call and invite those
people on the couple’s list. Explain the purpose of the “Time
of Blessing” to the people being invited and request that each
person or couple bring a verse to share with the couple which
will speak blessing and promise into their marriage and to be
prepared to explain why they chose the verse they did. Ask that
each person or couple contact you one week before the “Time of
Blessing” with the scripture they wish to use.
- Jericho Ministries has worked with a local trophy shop to design
a plaque commemorating the “Time of Blessing” for the couple.
This beautiful wood plaque is 9X12 inches in size and has a 5X7
opening at the top for the couple’s wedding photo. Under the photo
is placed a brass plate engraved with their last name and wedding
date. Below that is placed a brass plate for each person who attends
with their last name and the scripture they brought. This beautiful
plaque is a wonderful way for the couple to remember for years
the blessings that were spoken over them that night. If you are
interested in ordering this plaque, contact Morgan Awards, in
Broomfield, Colorado, at (303) 465-3326. Specify you are desiring
the blessing plaque set up by Jericho Ministries International.
The plaque is only $45 (plus tax and shipping) and will be the
most treasured gift they receive. $45 includes engraving, unless
excessive engraving is needed.
- At the “Time of Blessing” the host or hostess should open in
prayer and share the purpose of the event. At that point open
up the floor to each person or couple invited and let them begin
to share their blessing. This is also a wonderful time for those
invited to share their special feelings and memories of the couple.
After everyone has shared their words of blessing, present them
with their plaque and close in prayer.
“So shall my word be that goes forth from my
mouth; It shall not return to me void; But it shall accomplish what
I please.” Isaiah 55:11
Testimonies from “A Time of Blessing”
- “This was the most special time of all our wedding plans.”
- “Our time of blessing was over 6 years ago. I remember thinking
how so many of the scriptures shared with us revolved around children.
Since I had never been able to conceive, these words of blessing
didn’t seem too likely. Then the other day, as I looked at our
plaque and then our four children, I realized God’s word doesn’t
return void.”
- “This is a time we will never forget.”
- “This is powerful!”
“I will bless them and the places surrounding
my hill. I will send down showers in season; there will be showers
of blessing. Ezekiel 34:26
